We have joined the East Markham Family Health Organization (FHO), an association of 14 local physicians, at 6 convenient locations. A doctor from our Family Health Organization will be available during these 'after-hours' to attend to your urgent medical concerns:

• Monday to Thursday: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

• Saturday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

 

We encourage our patients to call our office, (905) 477-0027, where our voice message system will inform you of the local on-call FHO colleague available to assist you. Records of your encounter will be communicated to Dr. Carson & Dr. Sheng.

NOTE: Communication between your healthcare providers is essential for continuity of care and almost never happens when you visit a walk-in clinic. Therefore, we strongly discourage you from going to walk-in clinics.

 

For you, registering in a Family Health Organization means that you will have access to primary care treatment or telephone health advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Registration in our group will also entitle you to:

• Extended hours on evenings and weekends.

• After-hours access to a Telephone Health Advisory Service (THAS) whose qualified and experienced registered nurses will give you advice or refer you to medical or emergency services if needed.

 

To reach a registered nurse at the Telephone Health Advisory Service (THAS), please call 1-866-797-0000 (weekdays 5:00pm to 9:00am; weekends from Friday 5:00pm until Monday at 9:00am). In an emergency, please go to the nearest hospital.
